StartupNation…pull up a chair!
We’re not going to lie to you. It’s a bit rough out there for us right now. Honestly, it’s probably going to get a lot worse in the coming weeks. You are probably dealing with either having to close your doors for the sake of the public or maybe invoices aren’t getting paid because people are more cautious about where they spend their money.
We get it….it really sucks right now, and you are probably thinking about where you go from here.
We have a few ideas!
First, ask yourself why did you start this journey? Was it freedom? Was it because you had a great idea? Was it because you can do it better than everyone else? Whatever it is, you are going to have to hold on to that right now. Trust us, and you are going to need it. Besides, are you really going to let this virus take that from you? We think not!
Next, remember your greatest asset…your entrepreneurial mindset! There is nothing…and we mean nothing you can’t figure out!
Slow down…breath…think…refocus …and take a step.
Sometimes we don’t think straight when we panic.
After that, call your customers. Make them part of the process. Explain to them what you plan to do and how you appreciate their business. Trust me, and they love transparency. Call your vendors and negotiate….trust me, you have leverage because they are not making money if you are not.
Next, reach out to local agencies for help. We know the federal government, #Facebook, and others are working on something, but your local Chamber and other business agencies may be able to provide immediate help now.
Lastly, stay calm. We cannot stress this enough. Look, we get it, you were gaining momentum, and this thing comes out of nowhere and stops everything. However, you are stronger than any virus or adverse situation. If you built it once, you could build it again.
On our end, we will continue to bring you the best content and ask the best business minds in the world how to proceed during these unprecedented times. We told you that we will ALWAYS have your back. We intend to keep that promise!
#StartupNation the road will be tough in the weeks and months ahead. You will be tested may be as you have never have been before. But you have always welcomed a challenge, and this is just one more battle story to add to the book that is your entrepreneurial journey
…and what a story it’s going to be.
